About Us

ATMS was started by a group of qualified and experienced professionals from the field of Tea, Agriculture, Banking, Corporate advisory and Project Management in the year 2010 to work for the welfare of small, marginal and landless farmers who constitute 80% of the farming population. The whole motivation for the group was the method and system developed by Govt. of India, and planned management and support of different State & Central Govt. Agencies for the large section of small, marginal and landless farmers.

In 2015 ATMS became the first company to start promotion of 10 FPCs in the Horticulture sector in Assam. In the same year NABARD empanelled ATMS as their Resource Support Agency for the entire North East. The Banking Institute of Rural Development (BIRD) and National Institute of Agriculture Marketing (NIAM) appointed ATMS as their Training Partner for North East.

  • In 2020, ATMS started Bamboo Plantation Project funded by State Bamboo Development Agency (SBDA), Assam with 585 Ha under plantation.
  • In 2021, three more Bamboo Plantation Projects have been undertaken by ATMS funded by SBDA, Assam covering 900 Ha totaling 1485 Hectares. The Project will ensure to support around 2000 Bamboo growers to develop CFC / Processing Units for their produce.
  • In 2021, ATMS has undertaken 7 Bamboo FPC Projects in various Districts of Assam as National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd.(NAFED) being the Implementing Agency.

Overview

• Promoted and under promotion for 100+ FPC/FPOs comprising of more than 1 Lakh farmers across Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland.

•Hand holding support given to NABARD promoted 40 FPOs comprising as Resource Support Agency(RSA).

•Conducted 100+ NIAM (National Institute of Agricultural Marketing) training in the entire Northeast.

• Capacity building of 1000+ Board Members of FPCs on business planning, governance, legal compliances, etc.

•Conducted ToT & Exposure visit for 1000+ Board Members and 10,000+ Lead farmers from the FPCs.

Mr. Subir Chattopadhyay

-Founder Director ATMS.

Subir Chattopadhyay, the founder Director of Associated Tea & Agro Management Services Pvt. Ltd. is professionally qualified in Finance (M. Com, MBA). He has over 30 years of experience in Project Advisory, Banking and turnaround of ailing industries. He also has a long-drawn experience in the tea industry by virtue of his association with plantations and finance.

In 1992, he became the first merchant exporter of Tea from North East. Subsequently, in the year 1994 he was awarded by State Industry Department on “Excellence in Management”. In 1997 he became the first person to develop product for bank to support Tea Brokers to fund Tea Companies under Indirect Agriculture practice. In 2006, he established Tea tourism for the first time ever in his own Tea Estate. In 2014, he initiated and established the first Farmer Producer Company (FPC) with Small Tea Growers in the North Bank of Assam. It is the first FPC in the Tea industry in India. Since 2010 he is fully devoted in Promotion of FPO / FPC and Post-harvest management in Assam (mainly) and in few NE States.

Under his able guidance, ATMS became the first Resource Institute (RI) of SFAC from the North Eastern region to initiate Promotion of FPC in Assam in the year 2016 under the RKVY Scheme.

He is highly skilled in Finance, Accounts & Tax, Corporate Law, Banking, Plantation Management, Project and its implementation. His guidance is helping ATMS to become specialised in Promotion of FPCs and Post-harvest Management.

Ms. Nandita Sharma

- Executive Director ATMS.

B.Sc. in Agriculture - Specialization in Plant pathology from Assam Agriculture University, Jorhat, Assam and MBA in Entrepreneurship & Rural Development. Ms.Sharma has an experience of around 16 years in Market Research, Project Planning and Execution. She has led many study initiative in Agriculture and Horticulture sector.

A dynamic lady belonging from the Northeast who has promoted and established the first ever Farmer Producer Company in Tea Sector in India with Small Tea Growers in North Bank in 2013. Promoted 2 more FPCs for Small Growers in Tea Sector in 2014. In 2016 Started promotion of 10 FPCs supported by the Dept. of Horticulture and concluded in April 2019.

Ms. Sharma is experienced in Project Management and has excellent relationship across the Government system in the North East as well as in the Center. Under her able leadership, ATMS has organized several trainings on Farm Business operations among the Small and Marginal farmers of Assam in collaboration with the State Agricultural Department and NABARD under promotion of Farmers’ Producer Organization.

Apart from research work, Ms. Sharma is also involved with Horticulture, Agriculture, Fishery, Piggery, Dairy in different Govt. of India agencies like RKVY, BTC, DoNER, HMNEH, Raftaar with 100+ FPO along with 1,00,000+ Farmers. She is also associated with North Eastern Council (NEC), Small farmers Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC, Govt. Of India), Department of Horticulture and FP, Govt. Of Assam. NABARD, RO Guwahati and BIRD (Bankers Institute of Rural Development), Lucknow.
