Our Promoted FPCs
We are promoting Farmer Producer Company in Assam and adjoining hilly state with small, marginal and landless farmer supported by state and central Govt. Besides promotion, We are supporting Post harvest management. More than 100 FPCs are under support of ATMS.
What is Farmer Producer Organisation(FPO)?
A Farmer Producer Organisation(FPO) ia a legal entity formed by primary producers, viz. farmers, milk producers, fishermen, weavers, rural artisans, craftsmen. A FPO can be a producer company, a cooperative society or any other legal form which provides for sharing of profits/benefits among the members. In some forms like producer companies, institutions of primary producers can also become memeber of FPO.

ABOUT FARMER PRODUCER COMPANY(FPC).
What is FPC?
FPC is a Producer company of farmers, by the farmers and for the farmers, financially faciliated by the government, but managed by the proffesionals, leaving farmers to farm and on-farm activities.
How would a FPC help farmers?
It will help in ameliorating and ensuring sustainable livelihood of farmers and stackholders on farm & non-farm activities.It shall facilitate and provide technical know-how such as advising, training, finance, procuring procedure.
Exports of agricultural produce.
FPC certainly help enhance export of agricultural produce, particularly of ethnic products in several ways.
How would FPC function?
FPC professionals would guide its members(employees of the PC would also be shareholders along with farmers and thus stakeholders to the end.
How FPC help whole village/cluster of villages?
A given farmer grows only limited number of crops in a season/year but his/her family needs over ten items that are produced in a given village.The FPC will provide all items to all its members at farm gate prices and thus substaintially enhence their purchasing power, perhaps by a factor of two.
How can FPC help organic farmers?
Focus of FPC is on using GAP involving low cost eco-friendly materials for crop production.Most of these inputs can be produced right on farmer's field and are already in use by practioners of oraganic farming.
